Distribution

CNPC has established an Oil & Gas Pipeline Control Center in Beijing to realize integrated dispatch and monitoring of its 34 in-service long-distance pipelines. The center is one of such in the world that manages the operation of most long-distance oil and gas pipelines with the most complete transportation media.

We have built and operated 10 underground storages including Dagang, Jintan, Xiangguosi and Hutubi with continuously enhanced peak-shaving capacities up to 6.1 billion cubic meters, which made us more responsive to potential emergencies.

We adjust domestic gas production according to market demand and seasonal changes. By purchasing LNG spot, making the best use of pipeline capacity, and increasing the injection/extraction volume of underground gas storages, we can effectively balance production and sales, and guarantee safe and stable gas supply for winter heating and other special purposes.

In 2017, our gas sales rose significantly to 151.8 billion cubic meters, up 15.5% year-on-year. Our end-user markets of natural gas grew rapidly, registering gas sales of 23 billion cubic meters, up 5.26 billion cubic meters or 29.6% year-on-year. In particular, the sales of city gas, CNG and LNG reached 15.92 billion, 2.77 billion and 4.34 billion cubic meters respectively. By the end of 2017, we had 543 CNG stations and 615 LNG stations in operation, among the top in China.
